Start-Ups led by Women can kick-off virtuous business for a Sustainable Circular Blueconomy
NEWS
Thanks to the synergies of several clusters, BIOCHICA Start-Up is collaborating with partners of the MAELSTROM project with the aim of valorizing Blue Crab residues and marine litter in a new concept of biomaterial. Blue crab species has become a threat to marine biodiversity and ecosystems, as well as to blueconomy (i.e., fishing, aquaculture, and tourism), weakening local economies. The aim of the innovative research carried out by Biochica is to exploit the residues of invasive species and raise novel green jobs within the circular blue economy, where women can play a key role, with further strengthening of revenues for fishing enterprises damaged by the invasion of alien species.
